wheatgrass juice

Wheatgrass juice is one of the most powerful sources of nutrients humans can consume. It’s packed with so many vitamins and minerals that it should be taken seriously by anyone seeking super immunity or just an extra boost during a hectic or stressful week.

Wheatgrass juice goes beyond natural evolution to super immunity. It’s so good for you it’s almost like cheating. It’s like taking the carpool lane to super immunity, except you know there aren’t any cops lurking around the next corner!

Wheatgrass Juice – it’s the Chlorophyll

When you grind wheatgrass into juice and then immediately drink it, the chlorophyll you’re consuming, which is a huge component to wheatgrass, is actually still alive.

Chlorophyll is the very first product of light. It contains more light energy than any other food.

Chlorophyll promotes the increased formation of hemoglobin and red blood cells. Red blood cells transport oxygen throughout the body. The high magnesium concentration in chlorophyll helps to replenish our red blood cell count, giving us a boost of energy. Many top athletes move to high altitude locations in an effort to increase their red blood cell count, thus creating an environment that leads to more oxygen circulating throughout their bodies.

A doctor can immediately determine a person’s fitness or cardiovascular strength via one metric measurement: the amount of oxygen in one’s blood.

In the journals Carcinogenesis and Food and Chemical Toxicology the protective nature of chlorophyll is revealed further. There is a wide range of evidence that suggests chlorophyll is a strong preventer of cancer.

Wheatgrass, grams into ounces

An example of wheatgrass’ explosive health benefits can be found in its manganese content. 4 grams of wheatgrass contains a ridiculous 7000% Daily Value of manganese which is usually a mere trace mineral in many natural foods.

As a comparison, an entire cup of oats contains 96% of one’s Daily Value for manganese.

A standard shot of wheatgrass that can be purchased at numerous health food or smoothie shops, usually contains 2 ounces. There are just over 28 grams of wheatgrass used in one ounce.

Lutein and zeaxanthin are found in abundance in wheatgrass and therefore wheatgrass juice. These nutrients exist in many dark, leafy green veggies. Wide documentation in studies have shown lutein and zeaxanthin reduce the risk of chronic eye diseases, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and cataracts.

In a study conducted by the School of Food and Nutritional Sciences, University College Cork, Ireland, titled, The content and bioaccessibility of carotenoids from selected commercially available health supplements, wheatgrass is compared against chlorella, kelp and spirulina to their respective lutein content.

Wheatgrass had 17,760 ng/g in the food category, whereas chlorella had 5,640. Spirulina had 381 and Kelp had just 37.

4 grams of wheatgrass contains:

1600% Daily Value of Vitamin E

15,294% Daily Value of Riboflavin

44% Daily Value of Iron

413% Daily Value of Zinc

The above vitamins are just a few of the dozens of vitamins and minerals that wheatgrass juice possesses.

If you plant wheatgrass in organic soil it will absorb 92 of the known 115 minerals from the soil.

So, in short, believe the hype. Like any superfood, wheatgrass juice should be added to one’s diet and not depended upon to reach a healthy sustainable state of living.

To your super immunity,

Special reminder: The benefits of wheat grass can only be enjoyed via wheat grass juice as the fibrous nature of wheatgrass makes it basically indigestible by humans.

Final note: wheatgrass is gluten free, so no worries there.
